As an Elevate Legal Bill Review Manager you will use your excellent attention to detail and prior experiences to implement legal spend services for our clients as well as managing a team of up to 20 Legal Spend Analysts and Team Leads who are implementing legal spend services.  You will be called upon to provide legal bill analysis support, reviewing law firm bills to ensure compliance with the client’s litigation handling guidelines, providing quality control for the review provided by the Legal Spend Analysts on your team, communicating with client, outside counsel and other stakeholders regarding the review process, performing quality control on review completed by the team, working with offshore resources regarding workflow and initial review and leading other day to day aspects of the work of your legal spend team.  You will use this data and other information to support clients with analytics, strategy, and reporting.  As the process matures, you will help develop best practices, train new team members, and support clients in more advanced spend management analytics.

Specifically you will:

  • Review law firm bills to ensure compliance with the client’s litigation handling guidelines
  • Conduct analysis on billing data to identify spend management opportunities
  • Promote best practice bill submission and review procedures and identify opportunities to improve billing guidelines
  • Deliver advanced metrics on spend, quality, and performance
  • Ensure that team members are performing their jobs
  • Provide quality control on the invoices reviewed by team members.  Identify additional opportunities to deliver legal solutions to clients
  • Work closely with executives of our customer to expand and build a relationship
  • Support our existing team in redesigning and improving processes
  • Support new technology implementations
  • Manage data and reporting for the department, including budgeting and financial reporting
  • Help identify, design and implement processes and tools for better managing the legal department
  • Assist with various administrative tasks


  • 7+ years in a legal operations department, spend analysis or bill review auditing experience, or business analyst, finance experience
  • 3-5+ years’ experience managing teams of up to eight (8) team members
  • Prior experience as an attorney, paralegal, legal spend analyst, legal bill auditor, legal bill reviewer, or billing coordinator for law firms a plus.  Strong negotiation skills, personable and collaborative

Technical Skills:

  • Strong base of analytical experience and willingness to learn new techniques
  • Experience using major eBilling software vendors, including Mitratech, CT Tymetrix, Datacert, Bridgeway, and others
  • Experience with building and delivering high-quality PowerPoint presentations
  • Comfortable with learning new software products, if necessary
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup, and conditional formatting
  • Advanced Outlook Skills, including an ability to manage multiple Outlook Calendars across different time zones
  • Experience with eBilling management software preferred (specifically, TeamConnect)
  • Experience in legal workflow technology tools (specifically, with TAP from ThinkSmart)
  • General MS Office Skills


  • Bachelor’s required (Emphasis in business, finance, management preferred); JD preferred (or India equivalent)
