eCommunications Surveillance Analyst (Japanese Speaker)

As an eCommunications Surveillance Analyst, you will work with our clients to identify potential instances of market abuse and/or other regulatory violations by the screening of pre-selected electronic communication data and escalating as necessary. As part of our rapidly expanding business, you will have the opportunity to develop your career as a subject matter expert in the high growth area of compliance.

Specifically you will:

  • Screen electronic communications quickly and effectively using client-developed guidelines on market abuse
  • Identify and escalate potential instances of market abuse
  • Work with client teams to ensure efficient escalation of relevant cases
  • Collaborate with the client and internal team on the preparation of clear and accurate daily, weekly and monthly performance reporting
  • Design custom reports to showcase identified trends or to update on requested information
  • Provide reports when necessary on the eCommunications Surveillance KPIs


  • 3-5 years’ experience in eCommunications, trade surveillance, market abuse or compliance in a financial services firm
  • At least 3-5 years experience working in a reporting, MIS or a data analyst role
  • Prior experience or interest in regulatory compliance and investment banking is a plus
  • Experience of reviewing documents in Japanese language is a must
  • Experience or interest in eCommunications Surveillance, trade surveillance, market abuse or compliance within a financial services setting

Skills for Success:

  • Fluency in a second language is a plus. (Spanish, French, German, Portuguese)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proactive with minimal need for guidance
  • Basic familiarity with regulation surrounding electronic communication surveillance
  • Basic familiarity with FCA regulations and its application to financial services clients
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Technical Skills:

  • Computer literate with good MS office skills
  • Expertise in compliance and trade monitoring software (such as HP Autonomy, HP Surveillance)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel with intermediate knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Word
  • Prior experience with any Compliance software will be an added advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel with intermediate knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Word
  • Prior experience with any Compliance software will be an added advantage


  • Fluent in Japanese and English.
  • Graduate or equivalent experience
  • Series 7 or equivalent preferred
