Elevate’s client and global technology company is currently undergoing significant change across its legal and compliance functions as they react to the changing regulatory landscape. To support this change, Elevate is supporting them with temporary resources to work on a wide variety of projects.

As a Trademark Paralegal you will be working on the Trademark team, part of the Intellectual Property Strategy Group, where they manage the company’s global trademark and domain portfolios, which includes prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.    

Specifically you will:

  • Conduct preliminary trademark searches and prepare risk assessments to business teams globally. 
  • Assist in globally coordinating and managing non-US counsel on various IP issues, including trademark availability, filing, maintenance. 
  • Support global brand protection/enforcement efforts, including reviewing trademark watch notices, reviewing app store, social media and website reports, filing take down notices.
  • Draft trademark applications and other filings with the USPTO. 
  • Maintain trademark docketing database (WebTMS) and intellectual property files. 
  • Coordinate with business teams throughout the Company regarding docket deadlines. 
  • Assist attorneys with various intellectual property issues, as needed.
  • Assist team with third party permission requests. 
  • Coordinate with various departments within the Company, as needed to fulfill different tasks, including assistance in tracking trademark prosecution budgets.  

Experience and Skills: 

  • Minimum 5 years intellectual property experience, namely trademark prosecution and enforcement (both U.S and international).  
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as a team; sense of humor and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Experience in Internet and/or high technology areas of business highly desirable. 
  • Expertise in trademark prosecution matters, including all aspects of trademark application filings and ability to use USPTO’s eTEAS system, and on-line search tools (such as SAEGIS). 
  • Ability to use a wide range of business software generally such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Serengeti, and other online tools to complete work assignments. 
  • Experience with trademark docketing system, preferably WebTMS. 
  • Outside law firm experience strongly preferred. 

Qualifications:

  • Must have either a BA or BS or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved school
