On behalf of a Financial Software Company, we are building a dedicated in-house legal team to deliver first class legal support to wide range of internal clients. As an Elevated Lawyer™ you will become an in-house Corporate Counsel, providing a variety of general commercial legal services including managing legal business matters pertaining to the sales organization. 

Specifically you will be:

  • Acting as advisor on legal issues involving the company’s day to day requirements with its external clients.
  • Managing a variety of legal projects, focussing on contract negotiations
  • Preparing contract documentation and ancillary documents.
  • Negotiating and drafting contracts liaising with sales, finance, services and management representatives.
  • Giving opinions and advice on the interpretation of contract provisions, intellectual property and data protection issues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to be appropriate to the audience and avoid technical jargon.  
  • Experience with issues that are complex, confidential, and sensitive in nature.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence and provide direction on complex deals.

You might be the right person if you:

  • Have legal experience working for a law firm or bank.
  • Have the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced dynamic environment.
  • Have first class organisational skills and can manage your time effectively.

Experience:

  • Broad experience in general commercial matters including drafting commercial contracts transactional documents, license agreements, intellectual property, regulatory matters, risk management, data protection  and contract management.
  • Experience in confidentiality, intellectual property law, and other relevant specialisms.  Computer and technology industry experience is preferred.
  • 5 – 8 years PQE, ideally with several years’ experience in-house.  Also requires the incumbent to be admitted to practice law in the UK, other European or Commonwealth jurisdiction, preferably with English Law experience.

Qualifications:

  • Law degree required.
