Employment lawyer

Elevate is recruiting an Employment lawyer with over 5- years relevant experience to work at a leading organisation in London.

The successful candidate will provide clear, practical and commercial legal advice relevant to the company’s legal risk, reputation & brand, empowering the business and ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service.

This role will have particular focus on the non-contentious aspects of the work the employment team does.

Key duties:

  • Provide legal advice in all practice areas.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the company.
  • Help to create simple processes, guidance and templates.
  • Support the Senior Employment Lawyers and the Legal Director of Employment to deliver company strategy.
  • Draft, review and negotiate relevant contracts, clauses and other documentation and give legal advice in the key practice areas, with particular focus on the non-contentious areas- these include:
    • Deals – TUPE, deals, procurement, M+A, and exits, people clauses, logging risk during due diligence.
    • HR Change Projects- Performance, attendance, etc.
    • Business Change Projects- Reorganisations, redundancy, T&Cs changes.
    • Other Projects – e.g. regulatory or litigation investigations that need employment support.
    • Case Management – Grievances, investigations, disciplinary, performance and attendance cases.
    • Reward – All things related t employee reward, restrictions, T&C’s, working time, pay and benefits, including drafting contracts and policies.
    • Trade Unions & Employee Relations (ER)- Collective bargaining, recognition and industrial action and employee representatives.
    • Employment Tribunals (ET’s)- Run ET’s, including drafting, negotiating, settling and advocacy.
    • Settlement Agreements (SA’s), including Exec SA’s.

You might be the right person if you:

  • Have the confidence and ability to influence and deliver strategically important projects.
  • Can use your judgement to challenge stakeholders with regard to the company’s course of action.
  • Can deal with high volumes of work maintaining speed and accuracy under pressure from pre-determined deadlines
  • Can work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Are effective and persuasive in both written and verbal communication.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate in England + Wales and/or Scotland.
