Legal Operations Manager

Elevate are recruiting a Legal Operations Manager for a British public services provider. for an initial 6-month contract.

The role supports the development and execution of the Legal departmental strategy, delivering operational key projects and leading projects with individual members of the Legal team. 

The Legal Operations Manager, in partnership with the other members of the Legal team, ensures engagement from the Legal department in the strategy and direction of the function, role modelling and acting in accordance with the companies guiding principles.

Specifically, you will:

  • Be responsible for developing, refining and promoting the Legal Operations mission and executing the short and long term operations roadmap.
  • Manage and overseeing various Group Legal activity including the Group trademark portfolio, approval workflow of the governance of Parent Company Guarantee approvals, the Powers of Attorney database and global legal risk reporting.
  • Support the various global policies owned by the Group General Counsel.
  • Plan and manage business unit/department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with the department strategy, goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement a data strategy to obtain better quality management information. This will combine data capture with reporting and analysis to enable more effective decision making and better management of the legal function.

  • Have proven ability to deliver in a challenging and fast-paced legal ops environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and responsibilities.
  • Understand legal research methodologies and unquestioned discretion in handling confidential information, with a highly professional work ethic.

Skills for success:

  • Experience partnering Group and Divisional General Counsels, Company Secretarial teams and other senior leaders of relevant UKE and Group functions.
  • Business, financial, IT skills and an understanding of working within a corporate department.
  • Proficient in Project Management.
  • Expert analytical skills.

Experience:

  • Legal skills/qualification are not necessary if the individual has relevant skills and experience of driving operational outcomes within a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Experience implementing and managing legal technology solutions.
  • Experience of budget management, analysis and development of financial management information.
  • Project Management experience, ideally PRINCE2 qualified.

Qualifications:

  • BA from a respected University.
