Costs Paralegal

Elevate are currently recruiting for a Costs Paralegal to work for an International Law Firm in Birmingham on a 6 month contract.

Role Duties:

  • Gathering data from in-house systems and manipulating as directed from the Costs Draftsman.
  • Collating bundles of documents and producing word documents and Excel Spreadsheets.
  • To assist in the preparation of forms for presentation to the Court, including but not limited to:
    • Precedent H costs budgets.
    • Precedent R report.
    • Formal bills of costs for detailed assessment.
    • Statements of costs of interim payment applications.
    • Instructions and Briefs to Counsel.
    • To assist with drafting Points of Dispute and responses.
    • Liaise with fee earners and support staff as required regarding caseload updates.
    • Provide advice to colleagues across the firm regarding a variety of legal costs matters, including Court practice and procedure.

You might be the right person if you have:

  • Experience of working in a legal costs department.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience of working in a legal costs department.
  • Proven IT skills and an ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Demonstrable strong administrative and organisational skills.
